Ferret Food

Although we are bird food specialists we also sell ferret food. Ferrets are strict carnivores and need to be fed a high protein and high fat diet. We offer a complete, balanced diet for your ferret. High in meat protein, fat and energy, James Wellbeloved ferret food comes in delicious crunchy nuggets. They contain no colours, flavours or preservatives.

Ferrets have short digestive tracts and so need easily digestible foods, such as James Wellbeloved. Ferrets also have a high metabolism and digest food within 3-4 hours. It is important to provide water 24 hours a day which should be supplied in a heavy, big bowl as they also like to wash or play in water. You should never feed your ferret dog food because it doesn't contain taurine, a vital nutrient. They also contain too much vegetable protein which ferrets struggle to digest because they don not have a cecum, the part of the digestive tract which breaks down vegetables.
